Clinical Science Program

The Clinical Science Program comprises 78 weeks of core elective clinical rotations at hospitals in the US, Canada, the UK, and the Caribbean.

In this program, students participate in the patient care process while rotating through various medical specialties under the guidance of the clinical faculty and staff physicians.

At the end of each core clinical rotation, students will be tested and evaluated by the respective clinical faculty. Students must pass the AISM Clinical Science Comprehensive Examination before they can be considered to complete the academic requirements leading to a Medical Doctor Degree from AISM.

CLINICAL CORE CLERKSHIPS

• Internal Medicine (12 weeks)
• Family Medicine (8 weeks)
• Pediatrics (8 weeks)
• Surgery (12 weeks)
• Obstetrics & Gyn (8 weeks)
• Psychiatry (8 weeks)

The remaining 22 weeks allow the student to explore various medical specialties. Specialty classes are taught in 4-week sessions.

Upon completion of clinical rotations, students prepare for their Step 2 USMLE, PLAB I, and II, or CAMC exams with the aid and guidance of our staff physicians, who are familiar with these exams.
